Apartheid

"Apart"

Apartheid was a system which was built on racial classification (Colored, Asian, Native, White) and white supremacy. To illustrate this system, tourists enter the museum using tickets which randomly classify them as either white or non-white.

Apartheid Museum outlines the traumatic events which transpired during the rise and fall of apartheid. The exhibits, which include photographs, text panels and film footage, illustrate the brutal  injustices endured by non-whites for more than forty years!

In 1994, freedom prevailed and Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela became South Africa’s first democratically elected president.
